climate disaster, yet another mega fossil fuel pipeline project is being built

Hi Manfred,
Today is World Environment Day. While
the world is struggling to keep global warming below 1.5°C to avoid a climate
disaster, yet another mega fossil fuel pipeline project is being built
in Europe. It is called the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
Thanks to the German government's
blessing, the Nord Stream 2 pipeline is being built under the Baltic Sea to
transport dirty fossil fuels from Russia to Central Europe via
Germany.
Manfred, this pipeline will have
devastating consequences for Europe and the rest of the planet: it will worsen the
impact of climate change, suffocate already weak
economies of some European countries and increase the
dependency of the EU on fossil
fuels sold by the Russian state.
That is why we need to stop it! With
the ongoing climate crisis, investing in polluting fossil fuels will throw the
EU off the track in the fight against climate change. We cannot afford
this!
On this World Environment Day, can
you help us raise our voices to demand the German Chancellor to stop the
construction work of this massive polluting
project? |
Thank you for your
support!
Fernando, Nele, Teo and Rachel from
the TILT team
PS: Pressure is building on the
German government to block the pipeline. Many EU governments, citizens and
environmental groups are opposing it, and we can't afford to back down! Add your
voice |
