Hi Manfred,
We’re less
than 9 months away until the UK hosts the most important global meeting on the
climate and nature crisis since the Paris climate talks. Yesterday was
Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s chance to prove he's willing to spend money on
much-promised climate action.
But he failed.
The
government have been saying for months now that they want to build back better,
but better for who exactly? Switch on the news today and you’ll likely hear
awful stories about yet another round of job losses. [1] Behind every job loss
is someone’s livelihood, their hopes and self-esteem.
If the
Chancellor is serious about securing a green recovery, then he’s going to need
an army of people to make it happen - and the investment in place to create
millions of new jobs. [2] The UK needs to put people back to work
and tackle the climate and nature emergency. By creating green jobs, the government
can do both.
Can you
quickly sign this petition and ask the government to create 1.8 million new
green
jobs?
